The Ian Anderson Resource Centre (IARC) is a natural extension of Ian Anderson House (IAH) (www.ianandersonhouse.com), a residential, six-bed cancer hospice. Founded in 1997, IAH has cared for and supported more than 900 residents and families annually, without charge. However, there are many more families in our community who are caring for a critically ill family member at home.

On May 7, 2004, The Ian Anderson Resource Centre was opened by Senator Sharon Carstairs, Minster with Special Responsibility for Palliative Care www.sen.parl.gc.ca/scarstairs.

In March 2007, The Ontario Trillium Foundation granted the IARC operational funding to help us design and produce practical resources and educational programming to help meet the growing demand for support to individuals who care for loved ones dying at home in the Halton and Peel regions.
